  • Update

It is a peaceful kind of flow to see progression in one's xanga posts. Sometimes humorous. For instance...a few blog posts ago I was blogging about singlehood. My firm position on being single was un-movable..or so I thought. This spring I met my match. Equally addicted to being a loner...a "random" event brought us together. What insued from that point was a whirlwind, amazing, realization that...We were meant for each other. :) Which brings us to an amazing proposal which included Ben Folds, Pizza, and a very handsome soulmate. Yay.

Besides that...I have started grad school at Wilmington University. I am studying under their counseling program. When I graduate I will be on track for becoming licensed in NJ/DE as a counselor! I am so excited! Along the way I have met some amazing people and shared some life altering experiences. One of my new cronies at grad school ended up living ten minutes away and sharing my love for Jesus. I know have a car riding buddy (as class is 45-hour away) and an amazing friendship(you are amazing Kristi!). She also introduced me to Bethany Presbertyrian Church.

My first time at Bethany felt like walking into a hug. Everyone was so friendly, so nice, so warm-I felt Jesus in those people. I have been attending for a month and half-and hopefully joining in just a few weeks. ( I love my New Hope Friends- :D Bethany is a little bit more non-traditional-but not in a bad way-) We had a Faith In Action day which included a street clean up, Give-Away yard sale, bake sale, and face painting. Our church is in the inner city-it was so cool to share God's love with many people in need. :)

God is so great-I feel so blessed. His plan is amazing and it is comforting  to see how little pieces in life you never expected to fit-do!

I am still dealing with the GI issues....They think it may be a more wide spread issue with my autonomic nervous system. I am seeing a new GI doctor at the U of P who is a specialist in motility disorders. I had a fun new test the other day..a Tilt Table Test...or as my fiance called it..the Tilt a Whirl : P God will show me the way through this painful process and his blessing of my new friend at Wilmington and my amazing fiance have given me new hope.

    Yay.

I love reading all my fellow Xangans posts..You guys are amazing.

    A Resume Life

Hmmm you should do that! It would look soooo good on your Resume! That skill will help you find a job later! Is it not funny how many times those things are uttered to the undergraduate/graduate student? I am about to embark on my career of graduate school. It is frightening and amazing at the same time. Sometimes I feel so inadequate-due to my age, my lack of experience, my physical issues-these problems all gang up on me like a bad case of poison ivy. My real issues is this-remaining human. I see so many people go into higher education programs and come out slightly less real. More reality is based on text books-theorists. Doing things that will help one get from point A to point B. However, so many things are not listed on your "life list", resume, or job skill list. Like eating amazing custard on a warm summer day. Tearing down walls with your fiance. Playing a game of squeeky ball catch with your voracious labrador. These parts of life however, make us real. Without these everyday things-humans enter this catonic state of all book mindedness without having real experiences. It can be scary. I never want to lose touch with the things I love.
What are some things that you do to keep touch with reality/remain sane throughout grad school?

  • Beautiful Rendition of Faith

Perseverance means more than endurance— more than simply holding on until the end. A saint’s life is in the hands of God like a bow and arrow in the hands of an archer. God is aiming at something the saint cannot see, but our Lord continues to stretch and strain, and every once in a while the saint says, "I can’t take any more." Yet God pays no attention; He goes on stretching until His purpose is in sight, and then He lets the arrow fly. Entrust yourself to God’s hands. Is there something in your life for which you need perseverance right now? Maintain your intimate relationship with Jesus Christ through the perseverance of faith. Proclaim as Job did, "Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him" ( Job 13:15  ).

Faith is not some weak and pitiful emotion, but is strong and vigorous confidence built on the fact that God is holy love. And even though you cannot see Him right now and cannot understand what He is doing, you know Him. Disaster occurs in your life when you lack the mental composure that comes from establishing yourself on the eternal truth that God is holy love. Faith is the supreme effort of your life— throwing yourself with abandon and total confidence upon God.

God ventured His all in Jesus Christ to save us, and now He wants us to venture our all with total abandoned confidence in Him. There are areas in our lives where that faith has not worked in us as yet— places still untouched by the life of God. There were none of those places in Jesus Christ’s life, and there are to be none in ours. Jesus prayed, "This is eternal life, that they may know You . . ." ( John 17:3  ). The real meaning of eternal life is a life that can face anything it has to face without wavering. If we will take this view, life will become one great romance— a glorious opportunity of seeing wonderful things all the time. God is disciplining us to get us into this central place of power.
